The following schedule of events shows upcoming alpaca shows and on-farm events in our area:
Calhoun County Harvestfest Alpaca Showcase, Calhoun County Fairgrounds, Marshall, MI. October, 9, 2010, 10 AM to 5 PM.
Sponsored by Calhoun County Fair Association and MI-ALPACA

- Registration. Entries must be received by September 18, 2010. No registrations will be accepted after this date. (click to download form)
- Medical. All alpacas are required to be microchipped, have a health certificates from a licensed veterinarian, and tested negative for BVDV.
- This showcase is not an AOBA certified show so AOBA Show Division membership is not required. ARI registration is not required. Fiber animals welcome.
- There will be an obstacle course competition in the arena on Saturday. There is no charge for participation in the obstacle course but registration is required.
- Stalls.
- A. 8’ x 10’ stalls will be provided by Calhoun County. Sawdust bedding will be provided by MI-ALPACA. The barn floor is concrete.
- Each farm will be allowed a maximum of three (3) stalls.
- A maximum of three (3) animals per stall. Six (6) animals per farm.
- There are two (2) slightly larger areas available for farm stores. There will be no animal pens in these areas. These will be awarded upon request on a first come – first served based. Charges for these areas will be the same as three (3) stalls.
- Stalls will be pre-assigned based on when registration is received.
- Check-in. Friday October, 8, 2010 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds Sheep Barn. Health papers required at check-in. There will be NO check-in Saturday morning.
- Costs -
- Stalls – MI-ALPACA Members - $35 per stall
- Non Members - $40 per stall
- There is no charge for alpacas brought to the showcase
- Camping - $20 per night. Private bathroom and shower facilities are included.
- Electricity. There are outlets available throughout the building. You must supply your own extension cord(s).
- Waste disposal. Dumpsters will be provided for manure and garbage. Each farm is responsible for cleaning their stalls at the end of the show.
- Hotels available in Marshall.
