Michigan Alpaca Livestock and Commerce Association

The following schedule of events shows upcoming alpaca shows and on-farm events in our area:

Calhoun County Harvestfest Alpaca Showcase, Calhoun County Fairgrounds, Marshall, MI. October, 9, 2010, 10 AM to 5 PM.

Havest Festival

  1. Registration. Entries must be received by September 18, 2010. No registrations will be accepted after this date. (click to download form)
  2. Medical. All alpacas are required to be microchipped, have a health certificates from a licensed veterinarian, and tested negative for BVDV.
  3. This showcase is not an AOBA certified show so AOBA Show Division membership is not required. ARI registration is not required. Fiber animals welcome.
  4. There will be an obstacle course competition in the arena on Saturday. There is no charge for participation in the obstacle course but registration is required.
  5. Stalls.
    1. A. 8’ x 10’ stalls will be provided by Calhoun County. Sawdust bedding will be provided by MI-ALPACA. The barn floor is concrete.
    2. Each farm will be allowed a maximum of three (3) stalls.
    3. A maximum of three (3) animals per stall. Six (6) animals per farm.
    4. There are two (2) slightly larger areas available for farm stores. There will be no animal pens in these areas. These will be awarded upon request on a first come – first served based. Charges for these areas will be the same as three (3) stalls.
    5. Stalls will be pre-assigned based on when registration is received.
  6. Check-in. Friday October, 8, 2010 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds Sheep Barn. Health papers required at check-in. There will be NO check-in Saturday morning.
  7. Costs -
    • Stalls – MI-ALPACA Members - $35 per stall
    • Non Members - $40 per stall
    • There is no charge for alpacas brought to the showcase
    • Camping - $20 per night. Private bathroom and shower facilities are included.
  8. Electricity. There are outlets available throughout the building. You must supply your own extension cord(s).
  9. Waste disposal. Dumpsters will be provided for manure and garbage. Each farm is responsible for cleaning their stalls at the end of the show.
  10. Hotels available in Marshall.

    3. Hampton Inn from $134
